Adjective word order

Preparation
Tell your learners to separate a page in their book into 10 columns. Then dictate the 10 words into each column:

Opinion
size
age
shape
colour
origin
material
purpose
compound
noun

Play
1 Ask learners in pairs to think of 5 objects that appear in the game Samorost 2 and to write them down in the last column.
2 Ask learners to pass their books to the pair on their left.
3 Learners read the words in the last column to check they understand and remember them in the game.
4 Learners then write 5 word in another column that describes those nouns. They should write 1 word in any column for each noun.
5 Ask learners to pass the books to the next pair on their left.
6 Repeat steps 3 to 5 until most of the columns are full.

Post Play
Learners look at the language they have produced for each noun and:

1) Write a sentence using the noun and two or three of the adjectives for that noun.
2) expand a walkthrough using the adjectives from the graph.
3) test each other by saying the adjectives to their partner who guesses the noun.
4) test each other by saying the noun and awarding a point for each adjective they remember in order.
