Have Samorost ready on the board.


Play
1 Tell learners you will answer any questions like this (written on the board or visible to learners:

How do you say 'xxxx' in English?

e.g. How do you say 'ladrar' in English? (ladrar is Spanish for 'bark'. A dog barks).

2 Start the game and ask at opportune moments "What on Earth is happening?/ What's happening?". Learners answer using the correct form:

subject + am/ is/ are + _____ing.

3 Encourage longer sentences by eliciting greater detail. "What's the dog barking at?" etc.

4 Continue this activity until learners attention span begins to wane.

Possible answers (for the first screen).

A space ship is landing (in a garden).
Some aliens are picking apples (from the trees).
A dog is barking (at the aliens).
A man is shouting (at the aliens (as they leave)).
A space ship is travelling through space.
